On October 1, 2024, Yin-Shan Chen, a medical student from China Medical University (Taiwan), and Safaei Nour, Arman, a medical student from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany), visited Hokkaido University Hospital’s Medical AI Research and Development Center during their stay at Hokkaido University as part of an overseas training program.
The two students had discussions with Associate Professor Kenji Hirata and Specially Appointed Assistant Professor Yoshitaka Bito at the AI Center and received an overview of the research activities conducted at the center. Dr. Bito also introduced his research on “Analysis of Brain Hydrodynamics Using MRI/Low-b DTI.” Additionally, they observed the operation of GPU workstations.
Furthermore, they exchanged information about the current state of medical AI and digital transformation (DX) in Taiwan, Germany, and Japan, and shared opinions on the future development of medical AI and the possibilities for international collaboration.
Moving forward,Hokkaido University Hospital’s Medical AI Research and Development Center will continue to promote the advancement of medical AI research through such exchanges.
